Some PureView winter shots to warm you

I’ve featured Richard Dorman’s (aka Sheridan01) images a few times before here at the club. Another amazing “amateur photographer” (the description is his own) deserving much wider recognition.

In this post (another coming up soon), I’d ike to feature a few of his edited results from the raw .DNG shots coming from the Nokia Lumia 1020 and 1520, captured in the beautiful nature of winter in Finland.

I asked him permission to download a few to share here, there’s much more to enjoy at his special set on Flickr. Choosing which ones to share sure was hard, so I urge you to check out the previous link as well.

These were all taken on a cold morning – or evening, I’m not even sure. But I present my selection of his shots like if the sun is rising. That’s just for my own artistic purposes though :-) Click on each shot to see the original on Flickr.

Amazing job! Marc @PureViewClub could share what kind of gear you been using? im new at this just got my 808 this year and really want to expand my knowledge in photography…

    • Marc @PureViewClub

I hope Richard Dorman will be able to answer that, but as far as I know he only used the Nokia Lumia 1020 and 1520…

    • for those shots, it was just me and as Marc says the 1020 and 1520. Not extra kit was used. Tbh most were on full auto too, as it was cold and I didn’t want to take off my gloves :-). All we shot in Raw (DNG) and then processed on CS6.

  2. Fantastic work, as always with Richard. Thanks for sharing his work here, Marc !

Finland is really beautiful ! I wish I was able to take shots like these, with probably a lot less talent, on a daily basis. The winter isn’t even really a winter here (Belgium.

  5. Very nice shots indeed!
I figured out that it was the rising morning sun.

Don’t understand why the color temperature of the last pic is so different from the others.
