Inspiring idea: a vertical “panorama”

I like panorama shots a lot, but publishing them on a blog is bit of a problem, because of their width.
I usually can’t go any further that 643 pixels, which will lead to a very small representation of the “classic” panorama.

Now this morning on Twitter I found how Abdul Rehman took a different view and simply made his panorama vertical, leading to a result I think is very inspiring. That’s why I’m happy to share it here – you might need to do some scrolling, but now I can share almost 100% of the original – and it gives an incredible 3D feel as well!

The idea is not new in itself – you’ll find some great vertical panoramas here and some unbelievable (180 degrees!) here, but to be honest I never thought of it myself and my guess is I’m not alone – can’t wait to find the right place to try this myself.

So I hope to be able to share some more of these vertical panoramas in the future, and please don’t hesitate to send me one! :-) You will find all of Abdul Rehman shots on Flickr.

    A surprising idea!

Wish I had more time to experiment with my 808. I’m waiting all the snow to transform the landscape into a winter wonderland and then I want blue, blue sky. No such luck so far where I live.

BTW, am I the only one who is a little sad that the 808 is the last Symbian device?
