As you might know by now, my daily job is at a radiostation in The Netherlands, Radio 6 Soul & Jazz. And every once in a while when come to the studio, there’s a band playing in the hall. But it’s not often that I have the privilige of hearing all instruments amplified.
A few days ago, I was happy to see the guys from Organ Tonation at work: Frank Montis (Delmontis, Laura Vane & The Vipertones), drummer Lean Robbemont (Alain Clark, Delmontis), in October 2011 expanded with the guitar strumming skills of Aron Raams (Gare du Nord).
I had no time to set things up, nor to rehearse anything: the broadcast was live, I entered a few minutes before they would start, so I dropped my coat on the floor, got my Nokia 808 PureView out and started filming.
Later, I discovered that for some reason my Nokia 808 was on 25fps (instead of 30fps), but that won’t influence the sound in any way. This was extremely loud, and I’m still amazed about the ease with which Nokia’s Rich Recording handles it. I enjoyed recording this, I hope you’ll like it as well!
