Just a short update to inform you that Feature Pack 2 on the Nokia 808 seems to become somewhat of a disappointment to some users. I’m getting quite some complaints about:
- the Nokia Store not working anymore;
- Nokia Music not streaming anymore
- no Flash support and
- no Video Pro app as was promised with Feature Pack 2.
I can only share my own experience: I have no problems with the Nokia Store, it opens as usual.
In my country, Nokia Music could never stream music (but I can use Lumia for that).
I’ve never enjoyed Flash support on Feature Pack 1 in the first place: could not play video’s embedded on this site for instance. I hear others have no problems with it, though, not on Feature Pack 2.
Video Pro is a confusing story: I especially read from sources in India that Video Pro was not installed as Nokia had promised, but I just read the same from a reader from Belgium. I’ve got in installed now, still have to work with it to let you know what it does.
I have no explanation for all this. On NaviFirm, I can see there are different versions of the Nokia 808 PureView: 113.10.1506 and 113.10.1507. My Nokia 808 is on the last version – but I really don’t know what that actually means. When you check *#0000#, you will see your software version. My guess (and nothing more than that!) at this moment is that versions on 113.1015.06 (or even earlier versions starting with 112 maybe get a different update.
If there is anyone – be it from Nokia or outside – who can shed a light on all these issues, please do not hesitate to react on this post – thank you!
UPDATE: indeed, as someone in the reactions below has pointed out, the update has been pulled (once more) by Nokia. See their statement. Thank you André Leme for your reaction.

After using the FP2 update animated gif stopped work
After using the FP2 update for some days, here is what I encountered:
- Phone is generally faster
- Keyboard is faster, I personally am not happy with some keyboard layout changes. Some of these require some getting used to, others will just frustrate me, but all in all, I am still happy with the keyboard. :)
- Browser seems to work so much better. Speed is just one of the improvements. As they stated, HTML5 compatibility has been improved, and this is obvious right away.
Now the bad stuff.
- Nokia Music does not work for me.
- There is no Video Pro
- Phone locked up multiple times since update (battery needs to get removed), and I encountered an automatic restart while browsing. All in all, the stability is much worse than it was before the update.
Hopefully a fixed version will be out soon.
It is bad.. freezes and internet browser is haltingly slow…is there a way to go back go old version? This release I got officially is awful slow.
After i updated via PC suite my 808 to FP2 yesterday, Nokia Music did not work & no video editor pro.
Then Nok Music eventually works & I got Video Editor Pro after I re-flashed the latest FW using Phoenix.
(BTW even before Fp2 was released, I flashed the v.0311 firmware to my phone using phoenix because everytime I check for update, PC suite always say my phone already has the latest firmware which is v.0309).
Steps:
1. I deleted all the v.0311 related files (which I got from Navifirm before) on this directory:
C:\Program Files\Nokia\Phoenix\Products\rm-807
2. I copied all the contents of these 2 directories to C:\Program Files\Nokia\Phoenix\Products\rm-807.
a) C:\ProgramData\Nokia\Nokia Suite\NOSSU2\variants\Products\rm-807
b) C:\ProgramData\Nokia\Nokia Suite\NOSSU2\variants\Production External\Products\rm-807
(The contents of the 2 directories above were downloaded by PC suite itself when I updated my phone to FP2).
3) I chose “Software Reset” on phoenix.
Nokia Music now works & I also have the Video Editor pro.
But I still don’t have the Microphone icon on Maps search.

I like the changes but I’m missing landscape gallery and video pro as well.
Absolutely no problems at my end. Yes, the 808 locked up upon first upgrade reboot – when I pressed the dedicated camera button, the video icon came up, then lock – but all that got fixed upon hard reboot.
Very fast. LOVE the new detailed info for images in the Gallery. Very nice!
All in all, my 808 is faster, the keyboard if VASTLY better, portrait and landscape switching is smoother and now works vey well in the gallery, so I could NOT be happier.
Thanks, Team Symbian.
I SO adore my 808 and you just made it better! :-)))

Is it possible that 808 unites sold to different markets behave differently, given the update? I mean, this is the second one for me, since I purchased the tool. From someplace far east. No idea for which country it was originally configured, but it does work like the charm for me, in the US, via T-Mobile. Apps load faster, everything improved. I really do not know what the upgrade fuss is about, given I am in 808 heaven!
Best to all,
Michal
Has it occured to anyone that this might be why the update was pulled – because it wasn’t ready?
Al
Otherway round: it was not tested properly.
OR: it was published too early before there was an official go! by the developers.
@Andre Leme..you are right…they have taken the files off their servers..i guess when they re-upload it, we will have to reflash our units..right? lets see what turns up in the coming days..
they’ll make a new version, hopefully with everything fixed.
i too wish the same…
Flash Lite works almost as before for me, the only difference is that I need to click a “play button” to activate the object.
can you please give me the names of some sites where I can also try to click the play button to see if flashlite really works..
even the name of one such site will do….
This site is an example:
http://www.goethe.de/ins/se/prj/ets/mlg/gnl/enindex.htm
you’re right…flashlite works as same as before..it gets bugged on some sites though..still good to tide across many daily and frequently used sites with flash…thanks a lot for providing the link..
can you please check out this site… http://gaana.com/#!/home
there on the homepage page, you will find various songs..click to play any of them and then see if the clicked track plays or not? plz leave your feedback afterwards..i do need to know badly..
as regards flash, I personally have experienced FP1 browser playing songs from embedded music players of some sites, though very badly…but that GOOD-BAd is all gone from FP2 browser…now the browser has become like opera mini, UC browser, etc…u can still try flash on eBay though..
They’ve pulled off the update from servers because of “some issues”, official forum statement: http://discussions.nokia.com/t5/Software-Updates/New-software-update-for-Nokia-603-700-701-and-808-Pureview-Nokia/m-p/1566800#M122651

hi dere..my nokia store has no problem…it runs smooth..nokia music, browser flash and video pro are missing though..1507 and 1506 are all about the territories in which the 808 unit is situated…as per the initial releasing cost of the cell, the update has different ingredients, though very minor like some different codes, algorithms, commands as to wat all apps will be visible in nokia store app and yes, the video pro..
